1. Open AutoCAD application from desktop shortcut icon or start menu.
2. Turn OFF all the tools from status bar by clicking the icons individually.
3. Now Turn ON the Grid Display icon.
4. Now select View menu, then click on “Extents” option from navigation 2D panel.
5. Now click on “Home” menu and select “Line” tool from Draw panel.
6. Draw a rectangle using line command.
7. Press “Esc” key or “ENTER KEY” to exit from line command.
8. Now Turn ON the “SNAP MODE” by clicking on snap icon from status bar.
9. Now select “LINE” tool from Draw panel.
10. Now draw another rectangle using line command.
11. Press “Esc” key to exit from line command.
12. Right click on “SNAP” icon and select “Settings” option to display draft settings dialog box.
13. Then enter .25 in the edit box near Snap X direction and press TAB key.
14. Now select “Line” tool from draw panel.
15. Then draw a rectangle using line tool.
16. Press “Esc” key to exit from line command.
17. Now save the current drawing as “CH5_EXERCISE1”.
2. Turn OFF all the tools from status bar by clicking the icons individually.
